He is the son of a very precious, exquisite and almost unobtainable climbing bean traditionally grown in small family gardens in the mountains between Umbria, Lazio and Abruzzo, so called for the shape that often recalls that truncated hand-made gnocchi.
It was also called 'pea bean', again because of its characteristic, typical of peas, of having inside the pods the seeds that touch each other, with the result of therefore having the ends not pointed or rounded, but crushed, truncated.
This characteristic is still found in some seeds of our gnocchi, which is derived from that by crossing it with white coconut to make it dwarf and therefore more easily cultivable.
