This Barolo Riserva 1998 Granbussia of the Poderi Aldo Conterno it can be defined as grandiose in all, starting from bright red and full, intense without any concession. The bouquet has an amazing intensity, of blueberry and blackberry jam, ripe plum, spices, with aromas of raw meat.
The taste is powerful, austere, rigid with very lively tannins and anything but irascible, very pleasant. The length is really electrifying, a very large version of Granbussia.
This wine comes from the Nebbiolo grape variety in the Michet and Lampia varieties, hand-picked and produced by assembling the grapes of the Romirasco, Cicala, Colonnello vineyards in variable percentages.
We can define Aldo Conterno as the soul of Barolo , with its company located in Monforte d'Alba in Bussia Soprana, where most of the land is at an altitude of about 400 m above sea level
The story of his family begins in the nineteenth century after a few years of life in Argentina.
It was then that Giovanni Conterno returned with his family to Monforte d'Alba in the small winery of his father Giuseppe, assisting him in the production of local wine and increasing the production of wine that was sold in barrels, not only in Piedmont and Liguria but also in America thanks to a relative who still resided in Argentina.
Conterno thus felt the need to create, thanks to the market demand, a great Barolo to be produced only in the best vintages, with long fermentations able to hold up over the years.
In 1920 the Barolo Riserva was then bottled.
Since then the activity continued, handed down from father to son.
