The farm Altavia was founded in Liguria in 2002 by the idea of two friends united by the strong passion in common for the Rossese di Dolceacqua, in Arcagna, the heart of the controlled designation of this grape. The name of the company derives from the hills on which the vines extend, which divine the Nervia valley from the Roya valley, right at the beginning of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. The vineyards extend over about 5 hectares perched 400 meters above sea level, close to the Maritime Alps, sheltered from the fresh northern winds. Today Altavia is a modern company, which cultivates in addition to Rossese Syrah, Carignano and Touriga, with a production of about 40,000 bottles per year.
