The Barco Reale di Carmignano DOC proposed by Capezzana involves a vinification in steel tanks with a maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature, then the aging is carried out first in casks of Allier for 6-8 months and finally in bottle for about 3 months.

In Carmignano the vine was cultivated already in the pre-Roman era, about 3000 years ago, as shown by the wine vases and the tasting cups found in the Etruscan tombs. In the early Renaissance a woman, Monna Nera Bonaccorsi, built the first "house of lords" and nine farm houses with their vine-growing plants. Other generations and families have alternated in the property of the estate. Alessandro Contini Bonacossi finally bought the farm of Trefiano and the farm of Poggetto from the Marquis Amman Niccolini bringing the number of farms to 125. The new tinaia was built, designed by the architect Michelucci, the vine area was increased to 100 hectares and the wine and oil exported all over the world. The Noble Contini Bonacossi family celebrated 12 centuries of viticulture at the Tenuta di Capezzana in 2004.
