What is Carnaroli rice strong>
Carnaroli rice is a variety of the Japonica subspecies, typical of temperate climates. Native Milanese rice is grown mainly in the Novara and Vercelli rice fields, between Piedmont and Lombardy. It was born in the middle of the last century from the crossing between the Vialone Nano and the Lecino.
The grain is large and elongated (while the Vialone Nano is smaller and rounder) and therefore classified as superfine. The Italian rice of the japonica subspecies can be divided into round, semi-fine and super-fine. They differ above all for the cooking resistance and consequently for their use in the kitchen: the round (or common) rice varieties are suitable for timbales and soups, while increasing the size of the grain lengthens the times on the stove allowing us to have a hard rice even after many mecooking nutes.
The main feature of Carnaroli rice is its natural richness in amylose (starch), hence the typical creaminess of risotto.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
